Transportation, the way we move, paths we make... it all connects to mapping & landscape as well as energy.
I'm interested in how people move around on the land, the roads we build, and the way we navigate them. Driving has become a part of my life again, which connects me to oil, war, etc. Yet, despite these negative connections, highway interchanges and road systems are aesthetically interesting as constructions of human movement in space.
The way we commute every day affects our sense of place, how we interact with space and get to know a place. I record my commute using video and mental maps that I sketch or paint.
